You just have to love Yuujiro, he’s just too much fun. Watching him comparing make up brands, teasing Miko-chan, getting hit on by guys, and play flirting with Tooru are too much fun! He’s such a carismatic person, and not just when he’s wearing a skirt. And he always has some wonderful sarcasic or scathing remark to make, usually directed towards Mikato. Besides, he’s just so pretty! And he doesn’t even seem to mind wearing the outfits, its so cute!

He’s so unpreictable, one minite saying how he wants a girl with big boobs and the next kissing Tooru. You just can’t guess what he will do next. And all the interplay with Mikato is a big part of what makes the show worth watchng. His endless teasing and tormenting of poor Mikato is so cute.

But the thing I love most about Yuujiro is his relationship with Tooru. The dynamic between them is wonderful, they have such a great friendship, possably more. They are totally there for each other, and get each other so much. Yuujiro is so protective of Tooru, it is cute. And the way he only opens up to Tooru and trusts him is touching. Besides, throughout the whole show there is the undertone of something more between them. I mean come on, how many guys would kiss one of their guy friends, even to throw off a girl. And in the last episode where Tooru asks Yuujiro about his feelings and he blushes, you can’t help but think things may heat up between them in the future. I hope so!

Overall Yuujiro is the character that makes the show, for me. His humor and beauty are a centerpoint on wich the show rests. He is totally one of mt fav characters in anime.

Marginal Prince

Marginal Prince- Romance/Slice of Life- D-

Well, that was truly awful. Usually I try to give a show a chance, and watch at least three episodes before I decide to stop. But I really just couldn’t with this one, it was just too hard to continue. I mean really, it was such a pointless painful show, painful to watch I mean. The characters seemed shallow and you had to wonder why they were created at all. They were pretty, which was their only redeeming quality, but they all seemed a bipolar and tedious. I’m all for a show full of pretty boys, but there has to be more to the show than that, and there really wasn’t more to this one. And worst of all, they broke into song at random moments for no understandable reason. The plot looked really non existent and even in my wildest dreams I can’t see how this show could ever be worth watching.

December Fav Character: Eduard Markgraf Von Sekt Nahe Braunschweig of Meine Liebe.

Meine Liebe is a show made up of gorgious great guys, but my favorite was always Ed. He stood apart from the others, always so down to earth and practical. Loyal and cheerful, and you have to love his attitude towards life. Add in the fact that he’s stunning and plays the piano, and well its obvious why he’s my fav. He’s the voice of reason, the middle ground and also the comedic relief all rolled into one.

You have to just love his relationship with Orphe, he is such a loyal friend. He would do anything for him, and does. The trust and love between these friends is really touching. The way they rush to each others sides in times of need or distress. And the way they understand each other, if only everyone could have such a good friend.

He is truly an interesting person, on the surface he might seem like the shallow character of the group, the comedic relief. And while he does provide laughs, he also provides a great deal more to the group than that. He goes on to show surprising depth, and complexity. That hidden side to him makes him a joy to watch. He’s just the boy I can’t tear my eyes away from.

November Fav Character- Ayano Kannagi

November Fav Character- Ayano Kannagi of Kaze no Stigma

Ayano has always been one of my favorite character, she’s just so entertaining to watch! On the surface she seems merely like a selfish immature brat but as the show progresses you see her become so much more. She really is a chacter who shows a lot of growth over the series.

You might initally think that Ayano is really just  silly selfish girl, but its actually the opposite in more cases. She is suprisingly selfless, willing and wanting to protect everyone and ready and willing to even sacrifice herself for her duty. She is very serious about her duty, and very loyal to her family and friends. She has strong convictions and is willing to do anything to uphold them.

She also is just a truly sweet person, who loves her little cousin Ren and is constantly worrying about him. Who really cares and worries about her friends, and even abotu Kazuma.

The has the termper from hell, literally. Which fits well with her having control over fire. She is quick to explod and get angry and overreacts all the time. But she’s well meaning under that. She get over things rather fast and can show suprising maturity when it comes down to it.

Of course of on the best things about her is her relationship with Kazima. That is the focal point to everything. It is because of him that we see her grow so much and change. He forces her to think about things and not just react and teaches her to control herself. And forces her to grow up when her goes through him personality split. It funny watching the two of them togethery, he teases her and she reacts so wonderfully. And she get so jelous and upset and doesn’t even realize for the longest time how much she likes him. Its sweet.

October Fav Character- George Koizumi

The winner of my favorite character for October is George Koizumi, of Paradise Kiss. Probably not everyones favorite character, and not a true “good guy”. But still, I loved him. He really is a truly self centered narsisist, but at the same time he was good person in his own way. Frankly I just loved his relationship with Yukari, without that he never would have become my favorite. But since she annoys me in many ways, he is favored over her. After all he puts up with her, and at times I think I might have slapped her or really lost it with some of her childish selfish behavior. But George didn’t, he never raised a hand to her. Actally I really didn’t dislike her, Yukari, till she turned down Geroge’s offer to go to Paris with him. That pissed me off, here he was going agaist his nature, and asking her to come. Reveiling actual vunerability to her, and she shoot him down. I felt terrable for him. And his actions at the end, leaving her all the dresses, was so sweet and romantic, I loved him for doing that.

Geroge was always so calm, there were so few times when he really shows emotion. Which of course makes those time all the more important. It broke my heart to see his eye tear up as he left Yukari the final time. I was really happy that he cried like that. It made him more human, and at times he was really lacking that.

He had such a dry sense of humor, and the little side remarks he would make were always funny. He also just had such an interesting veiw of the world, just the way he saw everything and interacted with everone, it was so diffrent.

Overall, I just really loved George, he just made the show worth watching. Without him there, and his romance with Yukari, the show wouldn’t be worth anything. He really is one of my favorite characters, I just fell in love with his style and personality, and the fact that he’s gorgious didn’t hurt.

Paridise Kiss

Paradise Kiss- Drama/ Romance- A-

It’s really hard to say I loved this series, even though overall I really did. But the ending broke my heart and ruined it for me. To spend a whole series building up a relationship and in the last ten mintes of the show destroy it and have the main character married off to someone else, totally kills me. I really loved Geroge and Yukari together, thats what really made the show for me. I mean I liked a lot of things in it, the character were all interesting with well defined personalitys. The graphics were great, especally the fashion outfits. And I thought the vocal cast was really great as well. But for me, as I was watching, it was Yukari and George’s relationship that kept me watching. It just feel like overkill to add on the last little bit about what happens ten years later. I could have survive and still loved it if they had left that off. Even with Geroge going off to paris, leaving it open for the future would have made the whole series end wonderfully, perfectally. But to throw in at the last minite that Yuraki marries that idiot Hiro, just sorta tained the whole series for me. But still, I love it all the same, it was a brilliant show, well worth watching even with the sad end. And in my mind Yukari is going realize her mistake, leave hiro at the alter and run back to George, well a girl can dream.

September ’s Fav Character- Wolfram von Bielefeld

I’ve decided to try something new… Picking a fav character each month to talk about. We’ll see if I remember to keep it up/ But to start, for our first fav character for september we have Wolfram von Bielefeld from Kyo Kara Maoh!.

Wolfram is possably my most favorite (yes, I know thats not correct english) anime character ever! I simply love everything about him! He is such a totally brilliant character. Even if he wasn’t a yaoi character and in love with Yuuri, i’d still love him. But the fact that he is, just makes him so much better.

I’ve so enjoyed watching Wolfram grow over the course of the show, in all the anime I’ve watched, and thats alot, he may be the character who has shown the most growth. He has become the most amazing guy. He started out being totalyl beautiful and with a snobbishly cute atitude. But over the show he has grown into a selfless, brave, loving man whose loyalty and love for Yuuri knows no bounds. He’s become an amzing father and truly open minded.

Everything Wolfram does really just touches me. Looking back its amazing how far he has come. Time and time again he has thrown aside even his pride to protect Yuri and make him happy. A constant show of love is his willingness to follow Yuuri onto boats again and again. When he broke off thier engament and ran off to try and protect him, and then was willing to die to allow Yuuri to keep being a good king, I nearly cried.

And then there is the amusment factor, he is always cracking me up. With so many tiny things. Everything he say relateing ot his relationship with Yuuri, the wedding plans and idea of the future. The whole Bearbee’s as thier children thing, riotiously funny! The pink nightgown is also totally brillinat, not to mention his awful sleeping habits.  And the constant yelling out of “Cheater” and “Wimp’ in his sleep just makes my day. I also just adore all interactions he has with his adopted daughter Greta. He’s so protective and wonderful with her, its heart warming.

Overall, Wolfram is truly a wonderful character. One I want to see more of. I nly hope that the show chooses to keep building on his character. And hopefully allow him love for Yuuri to be returned some time soon.

Zombie-Loan

Zombie-Loan-Action/ Adventure/ Comedy/ Supernatural- A-

Watched: All

A funny little short anime, only 11 episodes, but worth watching all the same. the story it about two guys who were brought back from the dead and wrok killing zombies to pay off the debt for brining them back to life. They meet a girl who can see people who are about to die or who are dead and she starts to wrok with them. Overall a rather interesting story. I loved the two male leads Chika and Shito, listening to them bicker was hilarious! However the female lead really didn’t do much for me. Michiru was rather lame when it came down to it, she never relaly fought and just whined most of the time. But the guys made up for it. The animation I really liked, it was unique and interesting. Overall I really liked the series, I went back and watched it a second time.

Black Blood Brothers

Black Blood Brothers- Fantasy/ Comedy/ Supernatural- A-

Watched: All

A suprisingly cute little show, all about vampires and humans coexsisting. Its funny and sweet and has a nice pace. The ongoing backstory and flashbacks were somewhat annoying, but the details provided there were needed for the story. I think that there could be a second season, I’d like to see Jiro and Mimiko get together, and see what happens with Kotaro. The bad guy is still alive at the end, so the story could contenue, and maybe it will. My favorite character was Zelman Clock, something of a psychopath, but so cool! He was brilliant, never loosing his cool, with that attitude! He just made the show for me, any scene he was in was great! Overall I liked it, it was amusing and interesting.

Top 3 Anime Moms!

1. Miko Shibuya  aka- Jennifer,  of Kyo Kara Maoh!

Has to be my favorite anime mom ever!!! She’s so wonderful! Se’s so happy and cheerful and just takes everything in stride. Her husband tells her he’s a Mazoku and her responce is to be thrilled and wonder if their kids will have wings and tails (and is disapointed when they don’t), she finds out her son is engaged to another guy and she wnats to go look at wedding dresses, she is faced up against unknown monster and she grabs a mop and fences with them! She’s so utterly brilliant, not to mention as a mom she’s wonderful. Her attempts to rescue her sons is heartwarming, particually the scene she stops the fight between them by suddenly appearing in the sky and talking with them. She has to be the best mom ever in anime!

 

2. Kyōka Midarezaki  of Kyōran Kazoku Nikki.

A very strange mother, then again all her kids are adoptedand are the wildest array of “people” around, so only a strange mother could handle it. At first she comes off as utterly selfish and self-centered, not that she isn’t, but at the same time she turns out to be a great mother. She is always ready to leap into danger for her kids, and really does get them and thier issues and cares for them. She’s suprisingly sweet when it comes down to it. In the very first episode she shows her true colors when she yells at her new husband about pulling out a gun. And when Yuka was being picked on she rushed to help, comming up with an insane plan. As soon as she hears her kids are in trouble she wants to run over and save them, and destroy whoever hurt them. Overall a great mom!

 

 

3. Machiko Irie of Itazura na Kiss.

The busybody mother who plans her sons life. I loved her, from the very start she was rooting for Kotoko and pushed and pushed and meddeled, and finally got her way. I really loved when she followed them on their honeymoon, and when she saw the other woman hitting on Irie-kun she chucked the beachball at her, several times. Or when Irie-kun brought home another girl and she was so awful to her, brilliant! Always meddling with the best intentions for her kids, I found her charming.
